Minister President Mario Voigt on Tour in the Altenburger Land – Between High-Tech, Passion, and Homeland
A Day of Exchange in the Altenburger Land
As part of his summer tour “On the Road in the Green Heart of Germany”, Thuringia’s Minister President Mario Voigt made a stop in the Altenburger Land on August 6 and visited our company, OKM. Together with State Secretary for the Interior Norman Müller, Altenburg’s Mayor André Neumann, and Altenburger Land District Administrator Uwe Melzer, the Minister President took the time for in-depth discussions with local businesses, political representatives, and citizens of the region.
Insights into OKM’s Golden Pyramid
A special highlight of the day was the visit to OKM’s Golden Pyramid: After an introduction by our managing directors, Stephan Grund (CEO) and Christian Becker (CTO), the delegation was given a tour of our production facilities and the most important areas of the Pyramid. The guests gained an impression of the innovation and dedication of our employees. Our apprentice in the mold production department took the opportunity to speak personally with the Minister President and tell him about his positive experiences at OKM.
Innovation in Focus: Research Projects at OKM
The main focus of this visit were our current research projects in the field of detection technology. During a presentation, our engineers introduced their projects and areas of expertise. The topic of radar technology sparked particular interest among the audience.
Experiencing Technology: OKM Detectors in a Live Test
On our in-house test field, our visitors had the opportunity to experience our technology in action with the OKM eXp 5500 Professional. A member of our support team provided a demonstration showing what is important when scanning a field – including keeping the probe straight, maintaining a consistent distance from the ground, and ensuring sufficient spacing between the probe and the control unit. Afterwards, Minister President Mario Voigt and District Administrator Uwe Melzer had the opportunity to test our detectors themselves and see first-hand their performance and ease of use.
